“At the mouth of the well of the Itza” – this is the meaning of Chichen Itza, one of the 7 new wonders. This archeological site is one of the most amazing places to visit in the Yucatan area. The marvelous structure known as El Castillo or The Temple of Kukulcan is an extraordinary place to visit. We will show you the famous place where during equinox the very old Mayan ritual can still be witnessed: the Feathered Snake known as Kukulkan God comes down to Earth. Hundreds of people get together to witness the amazing shadow of Kukulkan coming down through the steps of the pyramid one by one during at least 45 minutes. Local guides will tell you the whole enchanting story.
During the rest of the year, the site continues to be a popular destination for travelers and tourists on the Yucatan Peninsula. El Castillo is the second-highest pyramid in the Mexican Mayan Area. You’ll get to see also: the huge ball court, the Temple of the warriors, the fascinating observatory, and more artifacts.
